Notes from Teacher: The school BBQ went well and it was very nice to see everybody from class. Please bring in a leaf and a fruit with seeds for science. Continue reading at home with your child for recognition in class.
Books: Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Gingerbread Man, and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. These were selected for Letter G and number three.
Dramatic Play Wardrobe: We still need boy items (capes, hats, vests). Thanks. They sure enjoy playing house, dress up and creating farm and train scenes.
Science: Caring for our planted seeds, carrots and radishes, learning about trees, sorting leaves and seeing seeds inside fruit and drawing what you see on paper. Book: How a Flower becomes a Fruit.
Math: Identifying numbers 0, 1, 2, 3 and counting with beans and tracing numbers. Using number of dots to create a picture. We are continuing to compare the oval to a circle.
Letters & numbers: Letter of the week is “G.” We will make gingerbread cookies and trace letter G. Using 3 dots to decorate their own gingerbread character, noting one head, two hands, feet, and eyes.
Large/motor: Outdoor play and circle games with music. Small motor activities: Motion letters and strokes using wipe off board and chalk board. There will be cutting and gluing, and sorting beans by number.
Songs: ABC/123 Jesus Loves me songs to help identify letters and numbers. Fun with music; Freeze Dance, using scarves, Pass the Ball to music, and go opposite direction. Also, Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick, taking turns jumping to music.
God’s Word: The story of Adam and Eve and how God’s Love is always there to restore us.
Upcoming School Events: We have begun Spanish on Monday mornings 8:45 to 9:30 with Ms. Rosa and Music in the afternoons on Monday and Wednesday at 2:15.
Thank You: We appreciate all the parent and church help that went into the school BBQ, and the art work of Andrew Ramos outside.
