Notes from the Teacher: We begin a new reading board, “Spring into Reading,” and awards for February will go out end of the week. Thank you all for reading with your child. This Sunday, Jr. K. through the 6th grade sings at the 8:30a.m. service. Breakfast will be enjoyed, following the service. Please stay and join us.
Letter (Kk) Books read: Read Along “Dr. Seuss ABC,” “Kindness,” “Ms. Bindegarten Goes to Kindergarten” and “The Night Before Kindergarten.” Also, the kind and caring princess story: “The Princess and the Pea.”
Math: Count together aloud with a Kite Flannel song story and number match with 5 kites and 5 ties bows of dots. Create their own paper kite using 5 kite tails of their own choice.
Small motor: The children will trace letter (Kk), color, cut and glue letter (K) word pictures and make their own letter K flip books. As time permits, make a “Kids of the Kingdom” crown hat and make their own kite with colorful tails.
Large motor: Run and play outside, using sand and water tables. Take turns riding the tricycles and big wheel and introduce jogging outside on the big playground for upcoming Jonathon.
God’s Word: “A Woman Anoints Jesus’ Feet” We will make some bath salts to go along with the story. Our memory verse is Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.”
Science: “Seasons of Weather” unit continued. We will experiment with light and water and the absence of light on seeds.
Spanish: We will not have Spanish this week due to extra Music performance time with all grades together.
Music: 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesday this week to rehearse with the whole school in chapel, going over class positions and song arrangements together.
